Kravitz reworking Jackson track

Lenny Kravitz has confirmed he’s planning to revive the track he recorded with late superstar Michael Jackson – he’s been working on a “new version” of the song.
The rocker hit the studio with the King of Pop before his tragic death last year to record Another Day, with Jackson on vocals and Kravitz playing along.
But the Are You Gonna Go My Way hitmaker was devastated when a 30-second cut of the song leaked on the internet in January.
Kravitz, who called working with Jackson “one of the most amazing musical experiences” of his life, denied he was behind the leak and vowed to negotiate with the late star’s record label in a bid to have the collaboration released officially.
And on Sunday, the day which would have marked the Thriller star’s 52nd birthday, Kravitz boosted fans’ hopes by revealing he was hard at work revamping the track.
In a post on his Twitter.com page, he writes, “Happy birthday Michael. I feel your spirit here with me as I am working on a new version of our track.”

Sandra Bullock on How She Kept Her Adoption Process a Secret

In her first TV interview since her divorce from Jesse James, Sandra Bullock opened up to “Today” show host Matt Lauer about how she kept her four-year adoption process a secret from the media.
“He’s a little Cajun cookie,” the Oscar-winning actress said of her New Orleans-born son Louis Bardo Bullock. “We don’t have any boys in our family. Boy, is everyone really happy about that. So, he’s like the crown prince.”
Bullock revealed in April that she had gone through a four-year adoption process before she was able to bring home baby Louis in January, and she did all this without the media finding out. On how she was able to keep the adoption process a secret from the press, Bullock told Lauer, “It takes– it takes good people with integrity. I mean, I read something like, how did someone keep a secret, and it’s– you know– human beings exist that have integrity that know how to keep their mouth shut. … But I was blessed with the same friends I’ve had since before things got really special for me and blessed in life.”
The actress added, “I think, everything works out the way the universe wants it to work out. … It’s like the child that needed us in the home is the child that’s going to be placed.”
Lauer sat down with Bullock for an interview that will air on the NBC morning show Tuesday, August 31. Bullock chatted about her support for Warren Easton Charter High School in New Orleans, and the “Today” show host joined her for the opening of the school’s on-campus health clinic that the actress helped fund.

Paris Hilton Denied Purse Containing Cocaine was Hers

( as reported in etonline ) : ET has learned new details about Paris Hilton’s arrest over the weekend.
According to a court document obtained by ET, Hilton was arrested for possession of a controlled substance on Friday night near the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas, NV when a traffic officer detected the smell of marijuana coming from a 2009 Cadillac Escalade she was a passenger in.
According to the documents, Hilton began rolling up the car window when she noticed police. The driver of the car, Cy Waits, failed a field sobriety test, the arrest report claims. Police say Hilton did not want to step out of the car because she was “embarrassed” by people taking photographs, and asked police to accompany her to the Wynn Hotel so she could use the bathroom.
While at the Wynn Hotel security holding room, police had Hilton place her small purse on a table, according to the arrest report. Hilton asked for her purse back, saying she wanted to get her lip balm — this is when police say they noticed “a small bindle of what [they] believed to be cocaine in a clear baggy,” which fell into an officer’s hand. The substance later tested to be .8 grams of cocaine.
Hilton told police the purse was not hers and that she had borrowed it from a friend. The purse also contained prescription medication, Albuterol, which Hilton said belonged to her. Hilton, according to the papers, also said that $1,300 in cash and several credit cards inside the purse were hers.

No red carpet treatment for Hilton, say cops
A Las Vegas police spokesman has insisted Paris Hilton received “no special treatment” after she was arrested on cocaine possession charges on Friday night.
The socialite and her boyfriend Cy Waits were driving along Sin City’s famous strip when their car was pulled over by cops.
Waits was arrested on suspicion of DUI and Hilton was booked for alleged felony drug possession after a police officer found a suspicious-looking white powder in her purse.
Hilton was checked into the Clark County Detention Center, but was freed in less than three hours – prompting rumours her celebrity status secured her a quick release.
But a Las Vegas police spokesman is adamant Hilton was processed like any other detainee, telling the Chicago Sun-Times, “(She) received absolutely no special treatment. We are used to celebrities here. They are treated no differently than anyone else.”

Minogue thrills with Wainwright duet

Kylie Minogue took to the stage with singer Rufus Wainwright for an unusual performance at a charity event in New York on Saturday night.
The pop star sang at the benefit show at the Hamptons Watermill Center as part of the Last Song of Summer Concert.
And she thrilled the star-studded audience, including Mark Ronson and Anjelica Huston, by collaborating with Wainwright on a variety of her hits, including Locomotion and Can’t Get You Out of My Head.
Speaking to the Wall Street Journal, Minogue gushed, “I’m a great admirer of his work and was thrilled when he came to see my concert at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City last year.
“I absolutely adore doing these types of one-off gigs. To share these moments with fellow artists, to be able to go off-piste and perform different songs and different styles is like food for the creative soul.”
The pair also performed If I Loved You from musical Carousel and a cover of Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah, before Wainwright closed the show with an emotional rendition of Over the Rainbow.
He dedicated the track to his late mother, folk singer Kate McGarrigle, according to New York Post gossip column Page Six.

Slash gets rock honour

Former Guns N’ Roses rocker SLASH has credited his early years in Los Angeles with inspiring his music career – insisting he felt overwhelmed to have been honoured by his adopted hometown at the Sunset Strip Music Festival last week.
The rocker moved from his native Britain to the U.S. when he was 11 years old and settled with his family in L.A.
He was the subject of a tribute as the city’s annual music event when it kicked off on Thursday, with stars including Motley Crue’s Nikki Sixx and Motorhead frontman Lemmy joining the salute to Slash.
And the guitarist admits he was deeply moved by the Sunset Strip honour, as he has spent so much of his life in the West Hollywood area.
He says, “Picking up the guitar for the first time in West Hollywood, then learning how to play in West Hollywood, starting a band in West Hollywood, and making it in West Hollywood. Getting a record deal at Geffen on Sunset which was the same place my dad used to work at when I was a kid. So I never left here. Everything in my life that is of any importance started in West Hollywood. And the Sunset Strip is like… such a part of me. So to be honoured by the Sunset Strip is just a major, major thing for me.”
Previous festival honorees include Lou Adler and Ozzy Osbourne, who made his U.S. debut with Black Sabbath at the famous Whisky A Go-Go venue on Sunset Strip.

Perry unsure about Aerosmith’s future

Aerosmith rocker Joe Perry fears the band will be over once its current tour comes to an end – insisting their future together is completely “up in the air”.
Perry recently confirmed his bandmate Steven Tyler has been in talks to join the judging panel of American Idol, although an official announcement has yet to be made, and the guitarist criticised the singer for not sharing his plans with his colleagues.
The rocker is now adamant Tyler’s new role is a done deal and he’s convinced Aerosmith’s future is uncertain once their Cocked, Locked, Ready To Rock tour comes to an end in Canada next month.
He tells Cincinnati.com, “He (Tyler) told me just a couple of days ago he signed his papers to join the show. As far as he knew, everything’s set to go.
“I think everybody’s a little worn out. The tour is winding up, and we don’t know when we’ll work again as band. That part of it is up in the air, and it’s starting to hit home.”

Moore nude billboard banned in Venice

A billboard featuring Julianne Moore posing naked for a fashion campaign has been banned by officials in Venice, Italy after it was deemed “inappropriate”.
The Far From Heaven star stripped off for a recent shoot for Bulgari handbags and plans were in place to erect a promotional poster in the city’s famous St Mark’s Square.
But Venice’s recently elected mayor, Giorgio Orsoni, deemed the picture – which shows Moore posing with only a handbag protecting her modesty – too risque.
He says, “An advertisement showing a nude woman on a divan is not appropriate for St Mark’s Square.”
The billboard will instead show less racy images of the actress fully dressed and modelling Bulgari jewellery, according to the Daily Telegraph newspaper.

Now McFadden has urged followers to “stay away” from the account and remain vigilant.
In a series of posts on his official Twitter.com page, he writes, “I can’t stress this enough. I do not have personal Facebook.
“There are fake ones and they are harassing people. Stay away from them. This is not me!”

Brown and husband head out amid ’split’ reports

Former Spice Girl Melanie Brown put on a united front with her husband Stephen Belafonte on Sunday amid reports their marriage is in crisis.
Belafonte is alleged to have personally phoned a journalist at the Sunday Mirror last week to tell him the couple’s union is over and that Brown plans to return to Britain without him.
Brown has remained silent over the report, ignoring the issue on her Twitter.com blog and declining to release a statement clarifying her position.
But she sent a clear message to fans on Sunday night when she and Belafonte were seen dining at a plush Japanese restaurant near their home in Los Angeles.
They left the Katsuya eaterie hand-in-hand – but Belafonte looked grim-faced as he led his wife to their waiting car.

Arquette: ‘My divorce is friendly’

Patricia Arquette has dismissed rumours she clashed with her estranged husband Thomas Jane over custody of their young daughter – calling their ongoing divorce “friendly” and “not weird”.
The Medium star confirmed her split from The Punisher actor earlier this month and after filing for divorce, Arquette requested full legal and physical custody of their seven-year-old daughter, Harlow.
Subsequent rumours suggested the former couple disagreed over how they should split custody of the youngster, but the actress is adamant the legal proceedings haven’t turned bitter.
She tells E! Online, “We’re both really good. I don’t think people would even imagine that it could be so friendly and not weird.”

Osbourne’s deathly flight hell

Rock wildman Ozzy Osbourne once had a nasty shock on a trip to the U.S. – a passenger sitting next to him on the plane died after suffering a severe allergic reaction to his in-flight peanuts.
The former Black Sabbath frontman was travelling to the States when a fellow flier began struggling for breath as he munched on his snack.
The rocker was stunned when he realised the man had died – and he was faced with explaining the tragedy to shocked flight attendants.
In his column for the Sunday Times Magazine, Osbourne writes, “I was on a plane once to America and the bloke next to me began making funny noises while eating his nuts. Next thing, I was sitting next to a corpse.
“The worst thing was having to press the buzzer to call for a flight attendant, then explain why a bloke who’d been alive a few minutes earlier was suddenly face-down on his tray table. In the end they put a blanket over him and moved me to a seat in first class with champagne.”

Allen furious over cricket ‘fix’

Lily Allen is devastated after her favourite sport became mired in a cheating scandal this weekend.
Editors at the News of the World ran an expose on Sunday accusing two members of the Pakistan international cricket team of rigging high-profile Test matches for a betting syndicate.
It is claimed they agreed to “spot-fix” – deliberately throwing “no-balls” at pre-determined stages of the game – during matches against England.
And Allen, who is a well-known follower of cricket, has taken to her Twitter.com blog to tell of her outrage over the scandal which is engulfing the sport.
The Smile singer writes, “I am heartbroken. If these allegations are true this is terribly disappointing… It’s the kids I feel sorry for.”

Clooney wants Hollywood spotlight on disaster victims

George Clooney called on Hollywood to cast its spotlight on the desperate needs of disaster victims as he accepted a special Emmy Award on Sunday night.
The Hollywood actor was handed the Bob Hope Humanitarian Award at the 2010 Primetime Emmy Awards show to honour his use of television to help good causes.
Clooney has long been involved with humanitarian causes and has been a major figure in raising awareness of the genocide in the Sudanese region of Darfur, as well as helping the victims of Hurricane Katrina and hosting the Hope for Haiti TV telethon – which was also nominated for an Emmy.
The star was presented with the prestigious prize by his former ER onscreen flame Julianna Margulies, and took to the stage to a standing ovation from the star-studded crowd.
And he took his moment in the spotlight to urge the media to put the plights of disaster victims on the front pages instead of headline-grabbing celebrities.
He said, “It’s important to remember how much good can get done because we live in such strange times where bad behaviours suck up all the attention in the press and the people who really need the spotlight, the Haitians, the Sudanese, the people in the Gulf Coast… Pakistan, they can’t get any (press).”
Lightening the mood with a laugh, he continued: “I thought maybe there was a way to combine the two. I offered to go to the South Sudan and have a wardrobe malfunction, but it was pointed out to me that I’m 49 and it would just be upsetting and kind of sad.”
But Clooney was quick to get back to the point, emphasising the importance of his appeal: “The truth is when a disaster happens, everybody wants to help. Everybody in this room wants to help, everybody at home wants to help. The hard part is part is seven months later, five years later, when we’re on to a new story. And honestly, we fail at that most of the time. That’s the fact. I failed at that. So here’s hoping that some very bright person right here in the room or at home watching can help find a way to keep the spotlight burning on these heartbreaking situations that continue to be heartbreaking long after the cameras go away. That would be an impressive accomplishment.”
Clooney follows in the footsteps of Oprah Winfrey, Bill Cosby and Danny Thomas, who have all been awarded the prize in previous years.

Bieber wants Travolta’s role in Grease remake

Justin Bieber dreams of becoming the next John Travolta – he’s eyeing the lead role in a remake of hit movie musical Grease.
The teenage pop singer is set to make his film debut next year in his own 3D movie memoir, which will document his stellar rise to fame.
And Bieber is already considering his next big screen project – he wants to star as Danny Zuko in a new version of 1978’s Grease.
He tells The Sun, “It would be a lot of fun. It’s been talked about a lot over the years but it would be awesome to play Danny.”
The Baby hitmaker has also picked out his fantasy co-stars, admitting he would love to act opposite Miley Cyrus as Zuko’s love interest Sandy Olsson – and even has roles for Susan Boyle and Cheryl Cole.
He adds, “If I had to pick my perfect Sandy I would go for Miley Cyrus without hesitation. She can sing, dance and act.
“I would really want some great people to star in it. Wouldn’t Susan Boyle make an amazing Principal McGee? We’d just need to write it into the script that she broke into song. I am obsessed with Susan Boyle. When I look at her original (Britain’s Got Talent) audition it makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.
“I would love to include Cheryl Cole in the movie as well if she was up for it. She would look great in the Rydell High cheerleading uniform.”

Close has revealed her 86-year-old mother is currently battling cancer and she hopes her former colleague can stay positive.
She tells OK! Magazine, “You know, just courage (is needed). You know my mother just had a big operation for cancer and she is 86 and you just have to soldier through it and keep a positive attitude.”
