Golden Screen Cinemas Raise RM 33 Thousand For Mercy Malaysia

Petaling Jaya , Thurs (April 26, 2012)

Golden Screen Cinemas Sdn Bhd (GSC) today handed over RM33, 060.15 to  MERCY Malaysia Executive Director, Puan Zahrah Yaacob in a simple cheque presentation ceremony in GSC Headquarters located in Damansara Jaya.

The amount was the result of GSC’s CSR fund raising activity with GSC “Alvin and the Chipmunks 3” recyclable tote bag promotions with GSC Combo 3 that ran in GSC cinemas nationwide from Dec 2011 till February 2012.

Representing GSC was Ms Claudia Gan (Senior Manager, Marketing), who shared, “The GSC team is pleased to be able to contribute back to the society via this CSR activity, in partnership with the movie distributor 20^th Century Fox”.

“In 2010, GSC ran a Treasure Hunt activity with 100Plus and raised RM150, 000 for Hospis Malaysia. We look forward to working with the various NGOs and other partners in future programmes as part of our corporate social responsibility  activity” she added.

Meanwhile, MERCY Malaysia’s Puan Zahrah Yaacob quipped, “MERCY Malaysia is truly blessed to have been chosen as the beneficiary for this unique fundraising campaign by GSC. This campaign not only helped MERCY Malaysia raise fund to finance our work, but has also created more awareness of our work in providing medical relief, sustainable health related development and risk reduction activities.

Of course, we would also like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to everyone that has contributed towards the success of this campaign, in particular, GSC’s patrons”.

MERCY Malaysia (Malaysia Medical Relief Society), under the patronage of  HRH Sultan Azlan Shah is  a non-profit organization that focuses on providing medical relief, sustainable health related development and risk reduction activities for vulnerable communities in both crisis and non-crisis situations, MERCY Malaysia provides a platform for Malaysians to unite and take a role in the international humanitarian arena.
