‘Scientology’ Watching Katie Holmes ?

Katie Holmes : Scientology Is Watching Me

Katie Holmes believes Scientology now views her as a threat to the organization and has put a team on her tail … sources close to the actress tell TMZ.

We’re told Katie believes in recent weeks — as the discord between her and Tom Cruise grew — Scientology has been following her moves, especially in New York City.

This does not appear to be the mind of a paranoid person. People who have photographed Katie multiple times tell TMZ there have been several “mysterious” men and vehicles around Katie’s apartment and following her when she’s out.

Specifically … a white Cadillac Escalade and black Mercedes SUV have been seen near Katie’s NYC apartment for the past week.

FYI — there is a publication that has put a tail on Katie, but the people doing that are separate from the people Katie believes have been dispatched from Scientology.

It is unclear if the two vehicles that have been constantly spotted near Holmes’ pad are from Scientology or from the publication.

If Katie is able to keep the divorce in New York — where courts generally like to award sole legal custody to one parent or the other when there is conflict — proof that she’s being tailed could help her case.

Katie Holmes, Scientology: Why The Actress Filed For Divorce From Tom Cruise

Katie Holmes is divorcing Tom Cruise, her husband of over five years, and the bombshell breakup has many people wondering just what went wrong.

According to TMZ, it was Cruise’s strong ties to Scientology and Holmes’ fear that their daughter, Suri, 6, would get pulled into the religion that caused her to take action. Suri is reportedly at an age when the organization is set to play a bigger role in her life, and Holmes doesn’t want Cruise dictating her religious beliefs.

Cruise has been a longtime Scientologist and even made a video in 2008 where he discussed his strong connection to Scientology.

People first reported Holmes’ divorce filing Friday afternoon, with the actress’ attorney, Jonathan Wolfe, stating: “This is a personal and private matter for Katie and her family … Katie’s primary concern remains, as it always has been, her daughter’s best interest.”

Cruise, who was reportedly blindsided by the divorce filings and Holmes’ request for sole legal and primary residential custody of Suri, responded with a statement of his own, via his rep: “Kate has filed for divorce and Tom is deeply saddened and is concentrating on his three children. Please allow them their privacy.”

The news of their split even has the rumor mill working in overdrive as to whether or not Cruise and Holmes had a marriage contract in place.

Cruise could face tax woes, lose custody of Suri

UPI/Rune Hellestad

(UPI) — Katie Holmes filed divorce papers in New York City, something that could cost Tom Cruise more in taxes than if the filing took place in California, TMZ said.

Sources told TMZ Holmes filed the divorce documents in New York because she felt she’d have a better chance of winning sole legal custody of the couple’s daughter Suri there than in California.

Cruise, however, is trying to move the divorce proceedings to California — where the couple has a residence — because the tax rates are significantly lower, TMZ reported.

The “Mission Impossible” actor has been trying to make it appear as though he and Holmes have not been living in New York, sources told the celebrity news Web site. Meanwhile, Holmes has been using a New York apartment Cruise deeded to her to establish residency in the city.

Rupert Murdoch Comments On Tom Cruise And Katie Holmes Divorce, Attacks Scientology

Rupert Murdoch Tom Cruise Divorce Scientology

Rupert Murdoch on Tom and Katie’s divorce and Scientology.

It’s been a few days since Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes announced their divorce, yet everyone is still talking about it, including media mogul Rupert Murodch.

The News Corp. chief executive took to Twitter to comment on the separation of Cruise and Holmes … and he also took some jabs at their religion, Scientology.

In Andrew Morton’s 2008 unauthorized biography of Cruise, the biographer alleged that Cruise had become the second in command of the Church of Scientology, according to The Hollywood Reporter, which is an issue Murdoch took up on Twitter.

Scientology back in news. Very weird cult, but big, big money involved with Tom Cruise either number two or three in hiearchy.

Murdoch went on to call the “cult” of Scientology, “creepy, maybe even evil.”

Watch Katie Holmes and Scientology story develop. Something creepy, maybe even evil, about these people.

When one of his Twitter followers asked how he felt about Mormonism, Murdoch replied:

What about Mormons? “@rupertmurdoch: Watch Katie Holmes and Scientology story develop. Something creepy, maybe even evil, about these people

@shakirc Mormonism a mystery to me, but Mormons certainly not evil.

Though his comments led to a barrage of “attacks” on Twitter, Murdoch tweeted that he’s not backing down.

Since Scientology tweet hundreds of attacks. Expect they will increase and get worse and maybe threatening. Still stick to my story.
