Le French Festival dates for 2018!

The 17th edition of Le French Festival (LFF) is making its annual appearance as the largest French event in Malaysia. Taking place a little earlier this year from 12th April - 20th May, culture enthusiasts can look forward to the latest French films, concerts, live shows, foodie gathering and more!

Besides Klang Valley, Penang and Kota Kinabalu, LFF 2018 will be making its first appearance in JB this year featuring a new generation of French talents, highlighting the most current trends as well as entertainment all the way from France including:-

  • Latest French movie releases for the Film Festival (with English subtitles)
  • Various musical artists from France including award-winning bands
  • Live Theatre
  • Visual Arts/Photography Exhibitions
  • Art de Vivre events: Returning festival favourites such as the Flea Market, food & drink tastings and cooking classes

Some of the exciting highlights LFF2018 has to offer this year include:-

'Amok' - a French theatre adaptation of Stefan Zweig's novel (set in Malaysia, iin the beginning of 20th century)

Rock-power trio Lysistrata - an award winning band and a regular at some of France's biggest festivals

The festival serves as a prestigious and privileged platform for expression of the French arts, and aims to boost momentum for cultural exchanges. This ever-growing extravaganza has experience numerous upgrades throughout it years of existence:-

  • New City: The film festival portion of LFF had presence in the Klang Valley and Penang for many years, with the 2017 edition making its debut in Kota Kinabalu, and this year for the first time in JB!
  • LFF continues to garber higher audience numbers every year with 2017 at a record of 13,000 spectators (compared to over 12,000 the year before).
