The man behind the Stormtrooper Mask, behind his every pair of sneakers, but in pages of Sneaker Freaker magazine as their model (he does have nice hair). Hans from Sneaker Freaker is our Fresh Meat of this weeks episode!!!

FRESH KICKS SNEAKER FREAKER BEST PICKSince it’s establishment in 2002 and founded by Simon Wood aka Woody, Sneaker Freaker has been keeping us informed on the latest sneaker releases/news/info and currently printed in English, Russian and German. SF is not just a sneaker-only print publication, they have also established a strong Internet presence. Not bad aye, for a company with humble beginnings from Australia. Since we have Hans in the studio, we decided to look back at their respectable archive of sneaker collaborations and pick some of our favorites.

ADIDAS TORSION INTERGRAL X SNEAKER FREAKERNow we have to admit, the Torsion Intergral is actually a pretty boring sneaker. It doesn’t really stand out and the previous colors we had seen were just meh …until this came along. Featuring a combination of minty nubuck, black suede and grey leather on the sides, the killer feature of this collaboration was the speckled mint midsole. SF proved to us that boring sneakers can be exciting if the colors are done right and word on the street is that mint happens to be Woody’s favorite color…

PUMA BLAZE OF GLORY ‘BLOODBATH’ X SNEAKER FREAKERWhen it comes to SF’s BOGs, the usual names we hear are ‘Black Beast’, ‘Great White’ or ‘Sharkbait’. But really, since it’s about sharks, we think ‘Bloodbath’ was the best colorway among the BOGs. Why? Simply because it was done up in a bloody, violent red (which paints a picture of how bloody a shark attack can be) with a mix of minty hits and gum soles. Sure, it wasn’t the most limited pair among the BOGs SF has done in the past but it felt the most appropriate. We wouldn’t mind getting a F&F pair though *ahem, hi Hans!*

ASICS GEL LYTE III ‘ALVIN PURPLE’ X SNEAKER FREAKERReleased in 2010, this was the first time SF and Asics would hook up on this purple beauty. Utilising suede and silky, smooth mesh on the upper, the colorway was a mix of grey, black, purple and white. Speaking of the purple, some people have described it as looking blue under different lighting but it didn’t matter to us, this was a retro runner done right and how often do you see an actual purple sneaker? Throw in the polka dot laces with a reflective back heel and you had a head turner on your feet.

NEW BALANCE 998 ‘TASSIE DEVIL’ x SNEAKER FREAKERIf you are looking for a purple sneaker but balanced enough to not be called royalty, look no further than the ‘Tassie Devil’. This sneaker was just off the charts! Working on the ever-reliable 998, it had a combination of violet, eggplant, lilac, lavender and mauve with a mix of black and a white midsole. Throw in the purple fangs and you had people turning heads! Like we said before, how often do you see an awesome nice purple sneaker?
