Rainbow Toy Narrators

The Menon Sisters, fondly known as Hiru & Dhi hail from KL. From an early age, Hiru, the oldest of the two used her toys to create characters in her stories and when her younger sister was old enough, Dhi was also hooked. She soon joined Hiru and the two made videos of their stories and posted them on YouTube with the help of their parents, Sham and Manu. Today’s story The Drought is written and narrated by Hiranya Menon.

Rainbow Toy Narrators:

Johnny Gillett – we are very fortunate to have him here with us in the studio. He has been in the performing arts industry for over 30 years, 10 of them as The Journey Man

A long time ago, Johnny Gillett told stories to his younger brothers, as the eldest child of his family. His love of stories and of adventures meant that he later became an actor and traveled the world performing in almost 40 different countries. He listened carefully to the local stories and histories of the places that he visited, so that eventually he decide he would tell the tales himself. He then became known as The Journey Man and his travels brought him back to South East Asia. Although he stills flies off to other parts of the world, Johnny is now often in Kuala Lumpur where he not only shares his stories, but helps others to be storytellers, whether they are in schools, libraries, community projects or the business world. His desire is to help people see the power of stories and be able to share their own with confidence and excitement.
